Waste Incineration – Even More Sustainable Is Possible.
Of course, waste is no longer simply incinerated today. In 2020, Abfallverwertung Augsburg KU (AVA) [waste recycling Augsburg], with 180 employees, produces around 57 million kWh of electricity as well as the equivalent of 196 kWh of district heating and 43 million kWh of biogas in natural gas quality from municipal solid waste and commercial waste from the greater Augsburg area.
However, since sustainability not only affects core production, but also upstream and downstream processes, AVA in cooperation with the specialists from RODIAS, has now also optimized the procurement process. The new digital ordering process not only saves around 50 folders of paper per year, a lot of postage, the associated storage costs for at least a 10-year retention period and after that the disposal costs – no, it speeds up and streamlines the process overall. Less effort means lower costs. At the same time, digital documentation ensures greater transparency and better evaluability.
The commercial management is happy about more efficiency, the employees are happy about less work and the environment is happy too. More sustainability thanks to clever IT – there we go!
