Wind power plays a key role in achieving our climate goals. And this is not just about installing as many new wind turbines as possible, but increasingly also about safe, efficient and environmentally friendly operation of existing plants and, more and more often, about modernising them.
There is now good news for operators of wind turbines, especially for operators of offshore systems in the North Sea and the Baltic. A global operational partnership of three companies, OWS (Off-Shore Wind Solutions GmbH), WM (Wind Multiplikator GmbH) and ROBUR WIND (ROBUR Wind GmbH), has bundled together and improved the services related to the operation of wind turbines.
Wind Multiplikator GmbH, based in Bremen, contributes its broad expertise in the management of projects as well as engineering services and consulting. Their 100% subsidiary Wind Multiplikator QHSE GmbH supplements this by taking care of sustainable, consistent quality and works on projects in the areas of occupational health and safety and environmental protection.
OWS Offshore Wind Solutions GmbH is a broad-based service provider for onshore and, in particular, offshore plants. Their range of services includes the construction and commissioning of wind farms as well as their maintenance, repair and modernisation – supplemented by engineering and prototype production. Their technical know-how is perfectly complemented by a strategic advantage: 40,000m² of warehouse space and 28,000m² of storage space are conveniently located in Emden, close to the port and rail network. This enables OWS also to take on more complex logistical challenges, which the often huge components specific to this industry bring with them.
The high-end resources of OWS also include a modern supply ship with an “Ampelmann system”. An “Ampelmann system” can best be compared with a kind of fire brigade ladder with a work platform, except it’s on a ship. Plus it has a special feature, in that the working platform from the Dutch manufacturer Ampelmann compensates for the wave movements and thus makes it possible to work from the ship on offshore wind turbines even when there are waves.
The trio is completed by ROBUR Wind GmbH. ROBUR WIND combines all the skills and services related to on- and offshore wind turbines. With almost 1,000 staff in Europe and North and South America, ROBUR WIND provides its customers with a full range of services for the long-term economic success of their on- and offshore wind farms. Both on land and at sea, it deals with operation and maintenance (O&M), replacement and repair of large components, rotor blade and tower services, electrical and mechanical assembly, electrical engineering, qualification and training, and even aviation aid systems.
Together, the partners offer a high level of willingness to innovate, broad cross-manufacturer experience and plenty of technical expertise. As an independent service partner of manufacturers, owners and operators, they make a valuable contribution worldwide to the achievement of our climate goals and to the well-being of future generations.
